WHAT WE COLLECT
When you subscribe to Chase the Rift or another mailing list, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your name.
When you buy something, we collect your name, delivery and billing address, contact details and order history. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
When you contact us, we collect whatever you choose to tell us.
When you visit the site, we collect standard analytics data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. This is collected through Google Analytics and does not identify you personally.
When you sign up through a social media ad, that platform passes us the information you chose to share, usually your name and email address. The platform’s own privacy policy also applies to that interaction.
WHY WE COLLECT IT
To send you the Chase the Rift chapters and other email you have asked for; to process and deliver orders; to answer your questions; to understand how the site is used so we can improve it; and to meet our legal obligations, including those relating to the sale of alcohol. We do not sell your personal information.
MARKETING EMAIL
We only send marketing email to people who have asked for it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. You can also ask us to remove you at any time by emailing us.
You must be of legal drinking age in your country or state to subscribe: 18 in New Zealand, 21 in the United States.
WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We share personal information only with parties who help us operate: our email platform, our website and payment providers, and our delivery partners. They may only use it to provide that service to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Some of these providers are based outside New Zealand, which means your information may be stored or processed overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a comparable standard.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
We keep mailing list information until you unsubscribe. We keep order records for as long as we are required to for tax and regulatory purposes.
YOUR RIGHTS
In New Zealand, under the Privacy Act 2020 you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you are unhappy with how we have handled it.
In the United States, residents of some states, including California, Virginia and Colorado, have additional rights, which may include the right to access, delete or correct personal information, to obtain a copy of it, and to opt out of certain uses. We extend these rights to all our US subscribers regardless of state. To exercise any of them, email us. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
COOKIES
The site uses cookies for basic functionality, analytics and advertising measurement. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.
CHANGES
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
